Nuclear-powered cell phone batteries

University of Rochester researchers are working on a prototype battery that uses power captured by electrons emitted from radioactive gas.  This is just crazy talk, can you imagine the whole world walking around with the equivalent to nuclear grenades in there pocket.  The Nokia Bomb not only acts as a phone, pda, and mp3 player but should you find yourself in a tight spot you can start world war 3!  More here.  (via: Engadget)

Anti-Blink digicam system

Masahide Kaneko is developing a new anti blink technology for digital cameras that he hopes will be available for the commercial market in 2 years. The basic idea is that the camera will take 15 frames in the half second you take your shot and just weed out the shots with blinks using some complex recognition software. Developers are hoping that it can even be effective for group photos that are as large as 30 people! Anti red-eye, anti blink, soon we’ll have anti-zit and anti- bad hair day!  More details here.  (Via: Engadget)

Electric Shock Snore Stopper

I snore on occasion, I also have room mates so I wonder if I need something like this.  The Healthcare Snore Stopper emits a harmless shock when it detects snoring.  Shock Therapy to train your brain to prevent snoring I suppose.  Now the shock isn’t suppose to wake you up, now the question remains how long do you need to wear it.  Don’t you just love the AD sex sells! This is meant to be hygenic but I just dont see it

Shakeutron…now that name alone has got to be a bit dodgy. Automatic toilets that clean your ass when you take a crap have been around for a while now, but robotic arms that shake your pee pee dry after you use the urinal?? I really can’t see why something like this was made, is it cleaner or more hygienic to have a robot arm handle your manhood?? A robot arm that has handled someone elses, and the person before that as well!! We all know urinals are not made for domestic use so this has definitely got to be a public toilet thing.
