B&O BeoSound 3

Beosound3

When it comes to gadgets that are heavy on product design , and not owned by everyone, its B&O that comes to mind and not Apple. Looking like a space aged cheese grater (I assume marketing put the product shot in a kitchen for some reason) this beautiful looking rectangular cube is a portable radio, clock and digital music player. Offering a full-range loudspeaker (which hopefully packs enough base punch) this unit is operated on rechargeable batteries and definitely looks cooler your living room than any iPod set up could ever be, but I’m guessing it doesn’t sink with iTunes. Ishuffle - Usportheadband

Usportheadband

This is just ridiculous, if you’re running with a shuffle strapped to your arm and your wearing a headband you look cool. A shuffle stuck in your headband with earphones coming out of your shuffle your look like a loser. This is just really poor product design that should have gotten thrown in the waste paper basket. Famicom Winamp Skin

Famicom_controller_by_luigihann

A lot of people use winamp, I stopped using it a while ago, but I just might start using it again, purely to use a geek fabulous skin like this. I’m a sucker for Famicom colours.  Check it out here (via:4cr)

iTunes 5 hiccups

Apple_screw_up

The almighty iTunes 5 seems to be having some problems with Windows users (probably an evol plan to make everyone switch to mac) as a result a lot of iPods are unable to do any updating until the problem is solved, so people are stuck with gigs upon gigs of old music until they problem is solved.  Apple is taking a very we’re so uber and can’t possible be wrong stance releasing this statement

Apple is aware that a limited number of customers are experiencing issues with installing iTunes 5. We’re working to resolve this and expect to have a software update early next week.

Samsung’s new YP-U1

Samsung_ypu1

Samsung has gone and made a shuffle clone. Now almost everything about this thing is the same only IT HAS A SCREEN! Samsung blatently said that this was there response to the shuffle, that’s so gutsy, but this mp3 player does have an uncanny resemblance to the shuffle.  Read more here (via: engadget)

Denon MP3 Turntable DN-S3500

Denonmp3

The DN-S3500 turn table looks like it is trying to put itself into the no.1 spot for CD turn tables. This cd/mp3 player is the real deal so it seams, playing both CDs and MP3.  Now I’m not sure if you load your MP3s into a CD or there is somewhere to insert a memory device of some sort but this turn table comes with all the bells and whistles you’d expect, pitch control, effects loops and a whole lot more.  As a hobbyist DJ this looks like a pretty good investment to me, vinyl is pretty irreplaceable but being able to bring along a few extra hundred songs to a set wouldn’t be too shabby.  I suppose even DJing has to go high tech at some point.  Product page pdf here (via: Gizmodo)

iTunes on Google?

Itunesgoogle

It seems that there are rumors of an unholy alliance between Google and iTunes.  iTunes found on Google page? Well that would certainly cause a lot of problems for Microsoft. Makes sense, but for now its all just speculation. (via: Gearlive)

Morrison Digital Trumpet

Digital_trumpet

I’m not entirely understanding this one but it seems that James Morrison (some really famous musician) and Steve Marchall ( some not so famous musician but also an inventor) made a new brass-style  MIDI wind controller.  From what I can understand is this digital trumpet sounds exactly like a real trumpet but because its electronic and uses midi can be programmed to be play guitar sounds, or whatever you program.  I would imagine it functions somewhat like an electronic keyboard with all the options you get on that. Numark iPod mixer

Ipod_mixer

The last time I blogged about this mixer, it was just a concept.  Numark now plans to release this mixer in the third quarter of 2006 for around the price of US $399. Now originally I’d said that I really want one of these, now I’m not so sure, as one of my DJ friends pointed out to me, there is no pitch control for songs being played by the iPod.  If there is no pitch control there is almost NO POINT in mixing.  This is all of course unconfirmed speculation but from the photos I can’t see how the mp3’s would change pitch and nor have I read anything about pitch control, it would be really lame if it automatically beatmatched.  Read here for more info. (via: Gizmodo)

Audi-Oh iPod Vibrato

Audioh1

Well this is what you think it is.  A vibrator that can sync up with your iPod tunes, so for all those ladies that complain about a boring one speed oscillation vibrators and have an iPod, this ones for you.  So you can pleasure yourself while listening to the smooth silky sounds of Barry White or get heavy with death metal really up to you.  Check it out here (via:Gizmodo)
