Child’s Play – Video Game Charity

250pxchilds_play_logothumb

I was really late on this one, but it seems the boys of Penny Arcade have created a charity where old game consoles go to die, and in turn bring joy to sick hospital children.  The idea is to donate your old and unused consoles to Child’s Play who redistribute the consoles and games to hospitals for entertainment purposes.  Read more about what inspired the boys here at The Escapist. Birthday swag

Birthday_swag

Was my birthday last week and as a result I walked away with some new gear. The new Moto PEBL (from my best friend) and a new Sony DVD 5.1 sound speakers system (from my beloved girlfriend). I endeavor to write reviews for these along with a review of my SP-350 soon.

Started work today

So after a 1 year hiatus from architecture I’m back in the field. Had my first day back in an architectural office training to be an architect. Hope this doesn’t prevent me from blogging as often!

Nintendo DS piracy

Pass2thumb

I’m really torn about this one. I knew it was inevitable, and its damn tempting cause I’ll end up saving a bundle but I really fear that if even fans like me start using pirated DS games, Nintendo will die, as my beloved Sega did and become a 3rd party developer. Can you imagine the horror of seeing Mario or Link on a ps3, 360 or PSP?  On top of it the device is damn ugly and makes your DS look horrible.  Read more about the piracy here (via:Kotaku)

It really is So easy to make Bush look dumb

Now I have no idea if this picture is real or doctored but if it was doctored you still wouldn’t find it that hard to believe would you?  Clinton  with the Sax was so much more appealing. (via: Boing Boing)

Hong Kong Disney Land

Well Hong Kong's Disney Land opened up, I got to check it out over the weekend, which explains my lack of posting.  Despite popular opinion of the place not being any good, I thought it was great, but that might have to do with the fact that I went with my girlfriend and 6 other friends.  I'll start posting more tommorow!

Virgin suing company Virgin Threads

VirginIt seems that the word Virgin is off limits for anyone in the world but Virgin Enterprise. A company called virginthreads.com is being sued by Virgin for the use of virgin in the company name. The owner of the site is being sued for infringement and for cybersquatting for the use of the word virgin.  Wow this sounds really lame, and on top of that who knew you could get sued for buying a domain name, guess you can’t buy domain names to sell anymore huh.  Read more here (via: Boing Boing)
