Grow - Ivy like Solar cells GO GREEN!

Grow
Came across this here at OhGizmo.  This is basically a system of Polaroid sized solar panels that can be clipped into a wall and wired up to  harness whatever sun energy it can sap!  Doesn't look to shabby as an Ivy like surface and should be easily placed on many building surfaces.  Wonder how it would handle wind, snow and rain.  Sounds like something for sunny dessert cities!

Came across this here at Yanko Design.  Designed by Architectural firm Serie this space is definitely very cool, supposedly based on the concept of Lily pads I think it would be so geeky cool if they had some screens playing frogger to round out the froggieness.

Designs like this can only be possible now with 3D modelling, I've got no doubt in my mind that some poor Architectural Assistant slaved away at designing this project and received no credit for it, while the boss man of the company gets to prance around saying yeah i designed this.  Hopefully I'm wrong!

Boulder like Building

Came across this here at Yankodesign.  If I ever designed and completed a building like this I could retire a happy Architect.  This building designed by Architect Giancarlo Mazzanti is located in Santo Domingo, Colombia and is a cultural center.  Its unnaturally boulder form suits its surroundings perfectly and its an almost iconic building in form.  Seeing as its a cultural center it would have been even better if they had sports facilities and one portion of the building was a climbing wall, then it would really be a boulder!  Ok climbing love shinning through now.

LV Shop Façade design

Now I have no idea if this shop façade design is real or not, but designer Sung Jang has definitely made something fresh and original. Check out his site here  (via:designboom)

Tod’s Omotesando building by Toyo Ito

Tods

So I’ve decided to start a new feature, its gonna be bi-weekly (and that’s only when I can find something I like)  Tod’s building in Omotesando is really nice on the outside. Designed by Toyo Ito it has a really funky structural façade that wraps around the building.  The structural wall is basically a whole lot of concrete pillars designed to look kinda random and resemble a tree.  Its quite impressive I must say, but the interior just isn’t as cool as the exterior.  I’d say the Prada building just around the corner is a lot more complete in terms of the outside and inside experience.  I was definitely impressed when I saw this building though and I wish there were these kind of oppurtunities out here in Hong Kong.  Read more here
