The net is buzzing with this one. It seems that Nintendo applied for a paten in July 2004 and just received it on Feb 2nd 2006. It seems to outline the possibility for the next DS or a DS upgrade, the main thing is that it will have the ability to have multiple contact points on the touch screen. This is similar to the Apple patent, great to see Nintendo pushing forward on new innovation. But this sorta thing always looks suspiciously like a prank. Read more here (via: Joystiq)
