Basically this is what you think it is, bookdrive will automatically flip through your books, scan crop and output your textbooks into a digital format. Now they make no mention on the website as to if the “digital format” is a document, image or pdf. If its just an image then in my opinion it isn’t much use, you can’t search it and it will probably take up a good chunk of hard disk space. This beast will cost you $50,000 USD, unless you plan on boot legging books, you might as well just buy the books and lug them around instead of being a smart ass and having it in your PDA.
