Tetris DS

So its an old game, but its still one of the best in my opinion, here is some information on DS version of the game via a press release –

Nintendo’s greatest characters team up with one of the most popular games of all time.

* Every mode in Tetris DS features a theme based on a famous Nintendo character.

* Up to 10 players can clash using DS Download Play to form a Tetris DS match of massive proportions, all with just one game card.

* Using Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection, up to four players can compete in wireless two- or four-player battles against friends or strangers, near or far.

Characters: Each game mode features a theme based on a famous Nintendo character or game.

How to progress through the game: The game has six game modes to choose from. Information will be released periodically about each mode.

Standard: This Mario-themed mode features the same addictive game play that made the original Tetris so wildly popular. Players guide falling Tetriminos (falling blocks) and form horizontal lines to clear them away. Mario™ runs around Super Mario Bros.® levels in the background.

Touch: This unique take on Tetris really shows off the touch-screen capability of Nintendo DS. Players use a stylus to drag and move Tetriminos in a giant stack to make them fall into horizontal lines. In early levels, they can tap Tetriminos to spin them just the way they need them. Players have as much time as they need to carefully plan their moves, so it plays very differently from the other frantic modes.

Revolution can handle Unreal Engine 3

Seems that the Revolution won’t be as pathetic and relying solely on its gimmick controller. A Midwat Developer has revealed that the revolution will be able to handle the Unreal Engine 3 (via:Joystiq)

Talus Watch – its about that time

I know a lot of people that need to buy this watch! The reason being that they are always late and don’t care much for the time anyways. This watch doesn’t tell the exact time, instead it will read times like “Going on quarter past one”, “Almost Six”, “A bit past three”.  It’s a cute gimmick and there is another Talus watch that tells time via time line, the basic idea behind all the Talus watches is that you don’t need to be super sharp with your time. Check out the product page here (via:Oh!Gizmo)

Nintendo DS LITE - the redesign is finally here!

Well its finally inbound, to be released in Japan on March 2, 2006 the new DS will retail for 16,800 yen which is about $140 USD.  The new dimensions?? 133mm x 73.9mm x 21.5mm vs the old 148.7mm x 84.7mm x 28.99mm.  It now weighs in at 218g vs the old 275g.  There is now the ability to select brightness and some of the buttons have been rearranged.  I think this looks sweet, I want one already!  Read more here (via:ign)

Asahi robot bartender – shaken or stirred?

Once upon a time I was a bartender, the pay was bad, hours dreadful and the tips were mediocre at best.  But I did get drunk a lot and I did meet my girlfriend through being a bartender.  Anyhow Asahi is giving away 5000 of these 6 pack fridges that can pour your beer into your glass with the Japanese standard of head everytime!  I find myself wishing I was still in Japan so I could win one of these (via: Engadget)

Palmtop Dance Dance Revolution Controllers

UMMMM OK so if you're a hardcore DDR, who doesn’t have enough room for the full sized matt, or your just too fat and lazy to get out of your gaming chair, this is the controller for you.  I can’t see a practical reason for you to get this, its more a product you buy for your toy collection or to have sit on your office desktop. Aquavision Waterproof LCD TV

Wait isn’t Aquavision a videogame producer?? Anyhow this TV is marketed for the people who like taking LONG ASS baths or showers.  These LCD’s come in several flavours sporting both 4:3 and 16:9 formats.  A nice touch is that the screens are heated so that they won’t steam up and the TV remote floats.  My question, unless your installing these units in a new home, how are you suppose to wire cable into the bathroom??  I’ll pick up one of these TV’s when they make a waterproof console and matching floating controllers.  Read more here (via: Gizmodo)

Wifi hooked up at 3 million

There sure are a lot of people playing Mario Kart, Animal Crossing and Tony Hawk!  Its great that the NDS has generated so many people playing at one time, but come on developers!! Lets have some more Wifi games already!!! (via: Kotaku)

Iwod G10 PMP w/ NES Emulator – China only exclusive

At the moment this is a  China exclusive gadget, the reason for this is that it has a built in NES emulator. Now I have NO clue if this product has the backing of Nintendo, but this would be a great product if it came with an English menu and was made available outside of China (but seeing as I live so close maybe I can get one). This gadget looks quite nice, can play MP4, AVI, MP3, WMA, rocks a 2.5 inch screen with 16 million colours and 882x228 resolutions, runs Windows has a SD card slot and USB 2.0. The kicker (asides from playing NES roms) is that it has a very satisfying 10 hour battery life. (via:Gizmodo)

Rubber Band Gatling Gun

Remember when you were little and you got into rubber band shooting fights with your friends, everyone would load up with a rubber band and shoot them from your fingers, no real damage was ever caused.  Well somebody decided to make a wooden gatling gun with 12 barrels that load 12 rubber bands each, so basically you can fire off a constant screen of 144 rubber bands.  This is no small toy standing at 40 inches tall and 44 inches long.  It will cost you a pretty penny too at $400 USD.  Product page here (via:Oh Gizmo!)
